PURPOSE: Assume responsibility for Inspection and Quality Control on assembly lines, sub-assembly areas, or off-line work centers in the Machine Division. Reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor or his designate.

Job Description (duties And Responsibilities)

• Promote an atmosphere of continuous process and employee improvement.
• Enforce quality standards in all facets of the assigned areas.
• Properly identify, disposition and assess containment requirements for all non-conforming items and materials in the assigned area.
• Assist with non-conformance accountability assignment
• Perform finished product, work center, and piece check audits, as required.
• Follow all significant product, document and process changes which affect quality.
• Create and maintain detailed quality records as required.
• Work with the departmental supervision in developing and maintaining a trained workforce.
• Provide oversight of non-conforming materials and Stop Shipment rework.
• Report quality and safety near misses and incidents.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.
  
  

Basic Requirements

• Technician III: Vocational training and 5 years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 7 years’ experience in a relevant work environment.
• Completes a variety of atypical assignments
• Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments
• Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
• Technician IV: Vocational training and 8 years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; or High School Diploma/GED with 10 years’ experience in a relevant work environment.
• Has advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable work experience
• Works autonomously within established procedures and practices
• May act as a lead, coordinating and facilitating the work of others
• Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally on the shop floor on a regular basis.
• Demonstrated computer skills in MS Office and Windows operating system.
• Ability to develop and maintain records and to follow projects through to conclusion.
• Basic understanding and knowledge of manufacturing engineering and quality standards.
• Ability to use measurement and inspection tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, Pins, Gauges, Protractor, and Scale.
• Capable of frequent standing, walking and lifting up to 60 lbs
• Must have excellent attendance, safety and work record.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
