What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinician - Community Based Program position at Lincoln Families?
Reporting to the Program Manager, the TBS Clinician partners with youth and families in the community setting in order to reduce and eliminate high risk behaviors that significantly impair the young person’s ability to remain placed in their home. The Clinician will also work directly in conjunction with a primary therapist and in collaboration with any other treatment team members to achieve behavioral goals and promote stability in the home.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct a 30-day comprehensive and culturally relevant clinical assessment and functional behavioral analysis across domains (home, school, community)
- Possess the clinical fluency and acuity to provide clinical interventions, family consultation, report writing and translation, and psycho-education in Spanish
- Formulate a client centered treatment plan with measurable and objective goals targeting specific behaviors of the client and their caregivers, and addressing challenges in multiple areas of life skills functioning, with an emphasis on sustainability for the family
- Build one-to-one rapport and a therapeutic alliance with youth and families in order to address goals created during assessment, and to provide direct clinical and behavioral services to youth and families
- Work with the TBS Clinical Supervisor and Program Manager to develop dynamic, innovative, and customized behavioral interventions to implement during direct service with the client at their home, school or community, within the larger context of evidence based practices. Integrate caregiver expertise, cultural norms, and natural supports into planning to develop and maintain high quality, high frequency, time-limited behavioral support
- Actively participate as a clinical member of multiagency treatment teams including: clinical consultation, intervention modeling, and coaching providers and family members in home, school and community settings as outlined in treatment plan
- Document all assessments, treatment plans, monthly reports and progress notes according to Medi-Cal regulations and within Medi-Cal and agency time frames
- Collaborate with outside providers, clinical staff and other Lincoln agency staff to insure seamless integration of TBS with other agency programs and service providers
- Participate in weekly individual clinical supervision, group clinical supervision, staff meetings, and clinical and other trainings and meetings, on site and in the community as expected
- Adhere to all professional licensing legal and ethical requirements
- Requires driving to clients at various locations across Alameda County to conduct meetings at homes, schools or other sites and transporting clients to/from court appointments. (Clinician must have valid CA driver license, personal automobile insurance and satisfactory driving record.)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Expresses a passion for partnering with families experiencing significant stress, centering their experiences and knowledge. Experience with strengths-based, trauma-focused care. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams. Interest and enthusiasm for ensuring services are delivered in a manner that is respectful of the diversity of clients’ cultural experiences. Values diversity and expresses such in contact with youth, families and colleagues. Practices ongoing cultural self-assessment to explore the ways they may be prejudiced, biased or ignorant towards others of a different culture. Ability to manage tracking and meeting billing requirements, and integrate critical and clinical feedback on chart reviews. Ability to handle a level of autonomy and flexibility on scheduling.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- M.S.W., M.A., or M.S. in a relevant field from an accredited graduate school.
- Possesses current license, is registered in internship toward licensure, or is license eligible/demonstrates potential to complete appropriate credentialing process.
- Knowledge and experience in delivery of clinical and case management services with children and families.
- Experience with Medi-Cal documentation requirements preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual Preferred, but not required: must possess the clinical fluency and acuity to provide clinical interventions, family consultation, report writing and translation, and psycho-education in Spanish & English
