Job Expectations- Store Manager

Leadership- the store manager leads by example in all aspects of the job

  • Shows appropriate levels of maturity, personal confidence and self-assurance. Confidential information is to remain confidential
  • Takes responsibility for decisions, actions, and results making sound decisions maintaining a professional work environment
  • Manage change well, can adapt, modify and change as business dictates
  • Follows and enforces all policies and procedures to create a healthy store environment for employees and customers
  • Drives new ideas, shares information with others, and creates solutions for problems.
  • Is proactive, willing to take calculated risks and take on challenges
  • Works collaboratively with employees in the stores as well as home office team

Customer Service- the store manager creates an environment in which employees continuously exceed customer expectations

  • Consider the customer when making decisions and taking action
  • Personally, establish strong rapport with customers and vendors and demonstrate customers are always a priority
  • Observes employees and offer feedback on level of service being provided to customers on a consistent basis. Greet the customer, engage in conversation and offering customer assistance; being quick and efficient during transaction
  • Team demonstrating an upbeat and positive attitude

Results- the store manager consistently achieves standards (Profitability, payroll, inventory)

  • Assists in breaking down desired results into manageable goals and establishes plans for achieving.
  • Follows up consistently and adjusts to achieve goals
  • Has a command of the numbers and knows how to impact results
  • Inventory results are consistently maintained at an acceptable level
  • Uses payroll as an asset and not an expense
  • Work efficiently in a multitasking environment

Store Operations- the store manager maintains all store operations including inventory, payroll, scheduling, security systems, budget expenses

  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing all policy and procedures
  • Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures
  • Ensures availability of merchandise and services, maintaining inventories,

reviewing merchandising activities and determining additional needed sales promotions

  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
  • Mind the bottom line and control expenses where you can control

Store Presentation-the store manager maintains a well- presented store on a consistent basis

  • Responds to business needs by updating and refreshing store presentation
  • Keeps store shoppable and appealing to our customers
  • Keeps store and backroom organized for efficiency
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment. Maintain store appearance to make products enticing
  • Look at your business through the customers eyes when making decisions

Staffing/Recruiting/ Hiring/ Training/ Orientating-the store manager consistently maintains a quality staff

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks
  • Communicates expectations and coaching team to drive sales with awareness of goals
  • Works with each team member and spends time coaching, motivating and developing them promoting teamwork
  • Anticipates future staffing needs
  • Interviewing and hiring
  • Holds employees accountable through consistent dialogue
  • Delegation of employee job duties and follow up on work results
  • Works a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business

Marketing- the store manager promotes business in the community

  • Marketing merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotions, displays
  • Seeks and acts on marketing opportunities to be recognized in the community
  • Sets marketing and signing in store
  • Encourages team to promote business in social channels
  • Has a wide range of relationships in the community

Communication- the store manager has open communication and practicing 2- way communication/informed

  • Hold self and others accountable to job responsibilities
  • Reports changes and variances in sales and purchases
  • Communicates weekly and contributes business recaps
  • Communicates store information relevant to team
  • Communicates store needs weekly

Is responsible for the overall store operations .
