As a Floating Teacher Assistant, this position requires facilitating and assisting students in participation during virtual speech sessions. This position is vital in supporting students' educational experience ensuring that students are engaged and remain on task. Responsibilities also include assisting the teacher(s) in implementing instructional plans and contributing to the overall positive learning environment. This position also ensures the continuance of the education program developed by the teacher(s). The commitment to student success and collaboration with the teaching team will help create an enriching educational atmosphere.
As of now, most of the work this school year will be at High Roads School of Southern York. There will be some traveling to other schools in York County to support special education classrooms and supporting virutal speech therapy. The assignment/location for this need could be different from year to year depending on the student needs.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in first aid
- Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in CPR
- Must have or obtain and maintain certificate in LIU-approved crisis management and intervention program, preferred
- Relevant experience working with students in an educational setting, preferred
- Patience, flexibility, and positive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff
- Must complete twenty (20) hours of professional development related to assignment each year (July 1-June 30) to continue employment.
- Must obtain "highly qualified" status within one (1) year from date of hire
- "Qualified" means meeting a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a local or state assessment
- Certificate of Competency - free of cost and can be acquired on the job OR
- CAPE test
- OR having an associate's degree or higher
- OR having completed 2 years (48 credits) of postsecondary study.
Salary: $18/hr
