LLCC’s Community Education department is seeking a Youth Enrichment Services Coordinator to be responsible for the research, development, implementation, management, and promotion of youth non-credit programs. The Coordinator will manage the summer College for Kids program and develop year round youth programs that focus on experiential learning and innovation that may include but are not limited to the following subject areas: math, science, culinary arts, technology, fine and visual arts and entrepreneurship. The program serves youth ages 5-18.
Responsibilities Include The Following
SURS is a state funded pension program specified for university and community college employees. SURS requires 8% of the employee’s pay to be deducted on a pre-tax basis and contributed to the system. Eligibility for SURS will vary depending on assignment. This retirement system does not coordinate with social security and, consequently, there is no payroll deduction for FICA. However, there is a payroll deduction requirement of 1.45% of gross wages for Medicare. Participation in SURS is mandatory when completing a SURS eligible assignment. You must have 10 years of service to be considered a “vested” member. Not all contractual assignments will qualify. To learn more about SURS, please visit their website at SURS.org

- Research, develop, implement and staff youth programming, including College for Kids summer offerings and additional year-round programs throughout the college’s district.
- Recruit, hire, support and evaluate instructors, seasonal staff and service providers.
- Promote courses/programs in cooperation with the Director, Community Education by writing promotional copy for the class schedule, brochures, flyers, news releases, paid advertising and the website.
- Oversee instructional development, and logistics coordination of youth programming throughout the year.
- Establish and monitor program quality in cooperation with the Director, Community Education including conducting surveys, preparing necessary reports and program analysis.
- Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with area school districts, funding agencies, and youth-related organizations as well as create cooperative partnerships.
- Keep abreast of current research and instructional trends in program area.
- Comply with department and college policies and procedures, and goals.
- Arrange for classroom space, educational materials, A/V equipment, meals when appropriate, and other service associated with a given program in cooperation with staff.
- Represent the college and provide presentations at local events and workshops.

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree; or four (4) years related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Prior experience teaching adult and/or youth learners is preferred
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate to a diverse audience that includes both parents/guardians and students.
- Ability to work independently and on a team and perform tasks with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to establish, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships.
- Basic math skills to plan and calculate pricing with minimum numbers.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
- Extensive software skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Occasional walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling.
