Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher. The Special Education Teacher will provide instruction, support, and accommodations to help students with disabilities access the general education curriculum and achieve academic success and be enthusiastic about making a positive impact in urban communities.
Key Responsibilities:Individualized Instruction:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, incorporating goals and objectives aligned with state standards
- Provide specialized instruction and accommodations to support students' academic, social, and emotional development
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum, adapt instructional materials, and differentiate instruction for students with diverse learning needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with parents and guardians to develop and review students' educational plans
- Collect and analyze data to monitor students' progress toward IEP goals and objectives
- Use assessment data to adjust instructional strategies and interventions as needed to support student learning
- Implement positive behavior support strategies to promote a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Provide behavior intervention and support for students with emotional or behavioral challenges
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students' progress, goals, and accommodations
- Collaborate with families to support students' academic and behavioral needs both at school and at home
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to special education best practices, instructional strategies, and assistive technology
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Pennsylvania certification in Special Education PK12
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination
