Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong background in electrical maintenance, skilled in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment, manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine tools. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and minimal downtime of machine tools, performing preventive maintenance, conducting repairs, and providing support for a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment. The technician will also contribute to improving equipment performance and reliability. Along with providing technical, maintenance, and electrical support for the entire shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, including CNC machines, lathes, mills, and other automated machinery. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on CNC equipment.
- Equipment Calibration: Ensure machines are properly calibrated to manufacturer specifications and adjust settings as needed. Verify tool offsets, spindle speeds, and other settings to ensure precision.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in equipment to minimize downtime. Use diagnostic tools and blueprints to identify problems and correct faults. Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of machinery. Maintain maintenance logs and records to track service history and parts usage. Implement a predictive maintenance program to ensure equipment longevity.
- Parts and Inventory Management: Manage spare parts inventory for machines, ensuring availability and proper organization. Order and replace worn-out parts, and track costs for repairs and maintenance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the production team to ensure machines are running efficiently. Communicate effectively with the maintenance supervisor and other team members to report machine conditions, repairs, and project statuses.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow company safety protocols and industry regulations when maintaining and repairing equipment. Ensure machines are safe to operate and comply with local, state, and federal safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest improvements to machine performance, maintenance procedures, and shop processes. Contribute to training new team members on equipment maintenance.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician with a strong focus on machine tools.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing machines, including familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong understanding of machine operation, programming, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with basic machining processes and tooling.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, CNC technology, or related field.
- Experience with specific CNC brands or systems (e.g., Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, etc.).
- Familiarity with PLC programming and control systems.
- Certification in electrical or mechanical troubleshooting.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial setting.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
