Visual Arts Teaching Artist

Job Summary:
- The Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center (LincolnParkArts.org) provides students from K to 12 at the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School (PACyber.org) in-person, high-quality arts classes. These ArtReach classes take place at PACyber's regional sites around the state of Pennsylvania. The aim of ArtReach (LincolnParkArts.org/ArtReach) is to enrich students’ creative knowledge and skills while providing them with opportunities to socialize and express themselves in a safe, respectful environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and teach meaningful and engaging arts lessons for all levels of students
- Collaborate with PA Cyber Regional Representatives and LPPAC ArtReach Coordinator to provide meaningful opportunities for students
- Turn in lessons, attendance, and timecard in timely manner
- Attend staff meetings and trainings when necessary
- Ensure students are constantly supervised during class time
- Ensure classroom is clean and organized, but also features students’ works and instructional aids
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in arts field
- Ability to convey subject matter in a manner that interests/engages the students
- Experience working with children of all backgrounds and skill levels
- Demonstrate professionalism in working with staff, students, and families
- Proficiency in Outlook email, Google Drive, and Microsoft Suite
- Ability to use a web camera and classroom platform or video collaboration software when necessary
- Ability to focus attention on students for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Community leader in arts field
- Teaching certification
Required Education:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in art field and/or education
Required Certifications/Licenses:
- Criminal background check
- Child abuse check
- Federal background check
- TB (Tuberculosis) test
Preferred Certifications:
- Teaching Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Walk students to and from classroom, as well as circulate room during class
- Ability to bend over and lift 20 lbs (supplies)
- Excellent fine motor skills
- Ability to focus attention on students for extended periods of time
- Ability to clean classroom when necessary (wipe off tables, sweep, etc.)
