What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified, 2025-2026 Secondary Special Education Assistant Coordinator Pool (6-12) position at Lincoln Public Schools?
LPS is hiring for secondary special education coordinator positions. In this position a special education coordinator works 189 days with 12 additional days. Position will begin August 1, 2025.
Schools are looking for a person who exhibits the following characteristics:
- Collaborative with other administrators, parents, and teachers
- Knowledgeable of Rule 51, IDEA and LPS school board policies
- Lead MDT, IEP, FBA, BIP, Manifestation and Safety Plan meetings for students
- Guide special education staff on accommodations and modifications while using the general education curriculum
- Appraise, train and communicate with special education teachers and para educators
Must hold a valid driver’s license, special education degree, and qualify for a Nebraska Administrative and Supervisory Certificate.
This position is subject to a veterans preference.
