What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified, AVID Facilitator, 1.0 FTE position at Lincoln Public Schools?
The AVID Facilitator will be responsible for supporting students taking AVID in Lincoln Public Schools. They will work to support students in their academic successes now and as they plan for the future. This position requires a great deal of interdisciplinary collaboration. The AVID Facilitator will collaborate with the Emerging Educators Empowerment Specialist, the AVID Curriculum Specialist, and the AVID Coordinator to ensure quality implementation of programming.
The AVID Facilitator:
-Supports and coaches students in the AVID elective in the tutorial process.
-Provides support to AVID tutors.
-Routinely provides individual support and coaching to students in the AVID elective class regarding academic goal-setting, student agency, and achievement.
-Collaborates and communicates with parents/guardians of students in the AVID elective to build a team approach to student support.
-Assists in the transition of students from elementary to middle school.
-Assists in the development of an ongoing plan for improvement for teaching the AVID elective in schools.
-Assists in creating/delivering professional development to AVID elective teachers and AVID school contacts.
-Visits AVID elective classes regularly to give ongoing support and feedback to AVID students.
-Collaborates with the AVID Curriculum Specialist, Emerging Educators Empowerment Specialist, and AVID Coordinator to support and provide oversight to student success within the AVID elective classes in Lincoln Public Schools.
