HEAD CHEER
Varsity Cheer
Requires teacher and/or coach who holds a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate or a Nebraska Department of Education Special Services Coaching Permit.
North Star is seeking a dynamic coach/educator to build & provide leadership for the Cheer program. All curricular areas will be considered. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, as well as the desire & ability to develop positive relationships with student-participants, families and the LPS community. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the sport of cheer and the ability to enhance the ongoing development and improvement of the cheer program.
LPS head coaches are required to organize and lead practices, regular season and district contests and performances (not to exceed NSAA/LPS allowances); facilitate, manage and provide oversight of the program; maintain required certification and requirements of the position; and lead their teams in NSAA state championship preparation and performances if the team or individuals qualify.
LPS has a long tradition of academic, athletic and activity excellence. Belief in the value of educational-based athletics is critical.
Knowledge and understanding of NSAA and LPS policies and bylaws is required.
