Week 1: 6:45pm-7:15am Monday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: 6:45pm-7:15am Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday

Role Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing quality medical care within Lincoln Recovery’ Detoxification and Residential Programs. This includes ensuring timely implementation of orders given, reporting of client needs, and documentation. The Licensed Practical Nurse also performs direct services to clients including medication administration, education of prescribed medications, processing of labs, executes initial detox treatment plans under the supervision of the Director of Nursing or Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities:
- Generates initial detox treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Completes intake assessments and triage.
- Daily Nurse Visits to clients.
- Participates and consults with the physician regarding client health care plans and treatment.
- Complies with medical records policies regarding the complete and accurate documentation of patient care.
- Initiates and maintains required records and legal documents set by state and federal law.
- Administers medications when onsite, provides vaccinations, and renders treatment to clients as necessary.
- Communicates with providers, RN’s, LPN’s, and medical professionals ensuring a continuum of care for each client.
- Responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints from clients and their parents, spouses, or guardians as needed.
- Provides instant care during medical emergencies, like accidents, burns, heart attacks and or strokes, etc.
- Conducts nurse to nurse communications with hospitals in the event a client is sent out, ensuring all discharge paperwork is received upon arrival back to the facility.
- Provide emotional and psychological support to the clients and their families.
- Maintains reports of clients’ medical histories, and monitors/records changes in their condition or behavior as needed or directed.
- Checks the stock inventory on a regular basis to maintain the inventory level, and places orders if required and designated by the DON or Charge Nurse.
- Respond to emergencies and initiate action as required.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and monthly trainings.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess experience and/or education of chemical and alcohol dependency and abuse.
- Possess experience and/or education with crisis management.
- Possess knowledge of HIPAA.
- Preferred candidates should be able to work well within a team and independently, effective communication skills, time management, ability to problem solve, and strong professional boundaries.
- Preferred candidate must be sensitive to religious, ethnic, and cultural differences.
- Familiarity with COWs and CIWAs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid Practical Nursing License (LPN) in the State of Illinois
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification or willing to obtain.
- Must successfully complete Background Check, Drug Screen, and TB Test
Physical Requirements:
Light lifting, light walking, able to walk up and down stairs, and extended periods of time sitting.
