What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - GOALS PROGRAM position at Lincoln Street K-2?
The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education teacher to work at the Lincoln Street K-2 School. The GOALS Program (Generalization of Academic, Language and Social Skills) is a new program and will provide a constellation of services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The program is designed to help children reach their full potential by providing direct instruction and embedded support in the areas of social skills, academic skills, behavior, language, self-regulation and communication across all environments. The students receive highly specialized instruction within inclusion classrooms as appropriate. The program is supported by a BCBA, SLP, OT, and PT as needed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan for the effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs;
Administer formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students initially referred and for three-year reevaluations of caseload students;
Facilitate and support inclusion opportunities for students
Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems;
Schedule, prepare for, and attend Team meetings for caseload students;
Write comprehensive progress reports
Collaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications;
Provide ongoing positive communication with parents;
Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals
