Title: Long-Term Substitute Chemistry Teacher (1.0 FTE)
Position Summary: Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School seeks a Long-Term Substitute Chemistry Teacher to cover a leave of absence effective immediately through the close of the 2024-2025 school year.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):
*Teach Chemistry courses, as assigned (3 Honors and 1 College Preparatory)
*Meet the goals of the assigned courses and the overarching goals of the Science Department and the school
*Plan lessons that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students
*Create a classroom environment that is inclusive and productive, and maintains appropriate standards of classroom behavior
*Provide timely and appropriate feedback to students, with progress reports as needed
*Communicate with parents to discuss student progress, as needed
*Cooperate with other professional staff in supporting student learning
*Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Science Department and throughout the school
*Attend faculty meetings, department meetings, professional development opportunities provided by the school, and IEP and 504 meetings
*Fulfill other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university
*Licensed, or eligible for licensure in Chemistry 8-12 or General Science 8-12 by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, to include Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
Experience Preferred:
*3 years in an educational teaching environment
*High School teaching experience
