Title: History Department Coordinator .25 FTE / Teacher .75 FTE
Position Summary: Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School District seeks a qualified History Department Coordinator/Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):
*Overseeing daily department functions (i.e. staff attendance & sub coverage)
*Acting as a liaison between the department, the rest of the school, and the K-8 sending districts
*Managing scheduling, budget, curriculum, exams, and hiring
*Serving as a resource for department members in student learning, organizational problem-solving, and History pedagogy
*Representing the department at the Academic Council
*Serving as a positive and collaborative member of the LS community
*Planning lessons that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students
*Creating a classroom environment that is inclusive and productive, and maintains appropriate standards of classroom behavior
*Providing timely and appropriate feedback to students, with progress reports as needed
*Communicating with parents to discuss student progress
*Pursuing professional growth through activities in and out of school
*Cooperating with other professional staff in supporting student learning
*Fulfilling other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
*Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
*Licensed, or eligible for licensure, in the appropriate field by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, to include Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
*Successful professional leadership experience in a collaborative setting
*Excellence in teaching high school students of all grades and academic levels
Experience Preferred:
*3 years educational teaching environment
*High School teaching experience
