Title: Physical Education / Health (Wellness) Teacher (.25 FTE)
Position Summary: Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School seeks a qualified (.25 FTE) Wellness Teacher. Lincoln-Sudbury offers a comprehensive four-year Wellness program, which includes a core curriculum of Intro to Wellness, Foundations of Strength Training, First Aid/CPR, Outdoor Pursuits, Health Issues and Cardiovascular Fitness. In addition to these required courses, the department offers a variety of electives.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):
*Able to teach a variety of Wellness content (physical education and outdoor education).
*Additional ability to teach health education content preferred, but not required.
*Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the LS community.
*Plans lessons that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.
*Creates a class environment that is inclusive and productive, and maintains appropriate standards of classroom behavior.
*Provides timely and appropriate feedback to students, with progress reports as needed.
*Communicates with parents to discuss student progress.
*Pursues professional growth through activities in and out of school.
*Cooperates with other professional staff in supporting student learning.
*All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university
*Licensed, or eligible for licensure in Physical Education (5-12) and/or Health Education (9-12) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education.
Experience Preferred:
*3 years educational teaching environment preferred
*High School teaching experience preferred
Additional Qualifications:
*Proficiency in Google tools including Classroom, Slides, Sheets and Docs
