Adjunct Instructor Cybersecurity

PURPOSE:

This is a Non-Tenure Track Adjunct position in the Cybersecurity Certificate program. Primary expectations include teaching undergraduate courses (as assigned) in online formats. Adjuncts must have a credentials necessary to teach cybersecurity courses.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
• Collaborate with other faculty members for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum.
• Provide appropriate classroom and online instruction for students enrolled in assigned cybersecurity course(s).
• Maintain expertise in the field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self-improvement and/or professional enhancement.
• Desired discipline-specific teaching with a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness.
• Commitment to the philosophy and outcomes of the Cybersecurity Certificate and Security Sciences Institute framework within which the certificate is offered. Maintain professional development activities.
• Maintain positive relationships within the University and in the larger community.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge and skills related to teaching students in class and online.
• Teaching experience in methodology, curriculum development, evaluation, or willingness to plan for acquisition of
  these skills no later than the first year of teaching.
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, and detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:

• The ability to teach in a diverse population of students.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Light sedentary office work.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
