Purpose :
Non-tenure clinical position available in the AAS nursing program.
Essential Job Functions :
Collaborate with other faculty members with implementation and evaluation of clinical objectives.
Direct and indirect supervision of students in diverse clinical settings.
Provide clinical experiences for students in accordance with clinical objectives.
Evaluation of students in clinical / lab settings.
Adhere to university policies and procedures.
Maintain clinical expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy by attending seminars, workshops, and classes for self-improvement and / or professional enhancement.
Qualifications :
Previous teaching experience preferred; two years of full-time clinical experience in the area / areas of teaching responsibility; knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, evaluation, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills no later than the first year of teaching.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Highly organized, detailed-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics :
Current / unencumbered Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Missouri, in good standing.
Bachelors in nursing degree; master's in nursing degree preferred.
A doctorate degree in nursing or related field preferred.
Attends nursing pinning and commencement ceremony.
Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
Have at least two years of academic or clinical nursing practice.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations :
Current / unencumbered Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Missouri, in good standing.
Bachelor's in nursing degree; master's in nursing degree preferred.
Have at least two years of academic or clinical nursing practice.
Physical Demands :
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Able to actively demonstrate and participate in the skills laboratory and clinical without physical limitations.
Works in the classroom / laboratory and clinical sites at various locations.
Ability to travel to and from clinical sites.
Makes recommendations regarding equipment, software purchases, and equipment maintenance.
Participates in the School of Nursing budget planning process.
Collaborates with colleagues in grant writing / fundraising.
