JOB SUMMARY:

The Offensive Coordinator is a full time position,12-month position and is responsible for the game plan and preparation for the offensive side of the football team and will specifically coach the Quarterbacks. The OC will also assist the Head Football Coach in the planning, promotion and administration of a quality Division II Football program; developing the team offense; evaluating the offensive team and producing a depth chart; directing the offense during competition; conducting offensive staff meetings; evaluating the offensive staff; and implementing work schedule of offensive staff. The individual will also assist in the areas of recruitment specifically the state of Pennsylvania, retention, skill training as it relates to developing a successful NCAA Division II football program. In addition to the football coaching assignment, the individual may be assigned additional responsibilities within the football program or athletic department. The Head Football Coach will serve as the primary supervisor for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, promotes and administers a quality Division II Football program.
  • Coordinate team travel logistics and itineraries
  • Coordinate arrangements for pre-season training camp Organize and coordinate NFL relations
  • Assist with the monitoring and support of student-athletes in the areas of: financial aid, housing, and meal arrangements
  • Coordinate and communicate with all supporting offices
  • Oversee Countable Hours Logs and complete compliance documents as needed
  • Coordinate all video needs of the football team
  • Assist with all official and unofficial visits – serve as University Host-recruit liaison during official visit weekends – on call to assist all hosts/recruits in any emergency and provides transportation every evening to return recruits from campus to the family hotel
  • Maintains Football records.
  • Displays effective on-field teaching and coaching methods.
  • Schedules and maintains equipment in consultation with the head equipment manager
  • Monitors student-athletes in academics, athletics, and personal matters.
  • As prescribed by the Head Coach and funding permits, will conduct summer football camp programs at Lincoln.
  • In coordination with the Head Coach and Director of Athletics conducts fund-raising campaigns and maintains good community relations.
  • Maintain football player graduation and retention rate similar to those of general student body.
  • Will assume additional work responsibilities within the Athletics Department as director by the Director of Athletics.
  • Will recruit and retain student-athletes in accordance with the NCAA and University rules and guidelines.
  • Will adhere to all policies and procedures of Lincoln University, CIAA, NCAA and those contained in the Lincoln University Coaches Manual.
  • Will work with appropriate University offices and officials to make sure that all football student-athletes adhere to all academic, social, and disciplinary policies of the University.
  • All other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics.


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree required.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Two to five years of successful football coaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Prior playing or coaching experience at college, university, or professional level.
  • Demonstrated athletic leadership experience.
  • Strong administrative, managerial, and interpersonal skills.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have proven success in coaching the sport of football as an Offensive Coordinator or Quarterback coach on the college level. Must be able to and have an understanding of the process of providing scholarships to young athletically skilled athletes and able to articulate that process.
  • Must be able to show proof of a personal history of recruiting skilled athletes.
  • Must have the ability to pass the NCAA coaches recruiting exam and have a thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Must show a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with people from varied social, educational, and economic backgrounds.
  • Must be able to work without constant supervision, make decisions, and have good judgement.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize events and assignments.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must have a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must be mature and dependable, and have a willingness to help others, and serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Moderate lifting up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend and reach.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend work. Travel for administrative work is expected. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
