JOB SUMMARY:
Conducts University courses for undergraduate students by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for teaching during the fall and spring semesters.
Responsible for teaching stringed instruments- with a specialty in violin.
Prepares and delivers lectures to students.
Compiles specialized materials for assignments.
Stimulates class discussion.
Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, or assigns this work to others.
EDUCATION:
Master’s required, Ph.D. preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two years teaching experience in a higher education setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
Must be able to make decisions supporting the department’s mission and goals.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize based on departmental functionality.
Must have excellent communication skills, oral and written.
Must have interpersonal skills, and the ability to work within a culturally diverse organization.
Must have a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Course specifics:
A pedagogical ability to teach stringed instruments: violin, viola, violincello, and stringed bass
The immediate needs are for a violin specialist.
The Music Department, at Lincoln University ,currently, is in the process of rebuilding our instrumental program with an ear to the future towards a Lincoln University Symphony Orchestra.
