What are the responsibilities and job description for the Soil Tech I position at Lincoln University?
Purpose :
The Soil Tech I position is a full-time position renewed annually based on job performance and funding availability. The main purpose of this position is to help implement climate-smart projects coordinated by the Soil Health and Sustainable Soil Management program.
Essential Job Functions :
- Fieldwork (50%). Maintenance of experimental plots at Alan T. Busby Farm (irrigation, weeding, data collection, etc.)
- Lab work (40%). Process and analyze large volume of samples (plants, soil, air / gas, etc.)
- Other tasks (10%). As assigned by the supervisor. For example, assisting graduate students' work.
