Job summary

Senior Health Care Support Worker

The successful applicant will be able to do physiological observations on all age ranges, they will also be able to utilise extended skills such as plastering and venepuncture in a busy Urgent Treatment Centre located at Boston Pilgrim Hospital.

Experience of working in an Urgent Treatment Centre or similar environment is essential

We have a hour vacancy for a Senior Health Care Support Workers at Boston Urgent Treatment Centre and are looking for an individuals who is an excellent team workers and is self motivated. They will have a good general education, NVQ Level 3 in Health Care or equivalent, have System One knowledge and have current Urgent / Emergency Care experience and have extended clinical skills.

Bladder scanning

Chaperone

Venepuncture

Wound closure and care ( desirable)

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Basic General Secondary Education
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent relevant experience
  • Specific relevent clinical skills, venepuncture and application of plaster
  • Recent Urgent care experience
  • POPS knowledge

Desirable

  • Wound care skills
  • Urinary catheter and bladder scanning competencies
  • Previous Experience

    Essential

  • Customer Service skills with experience of dealing with members of the public
  • One years experience as a Health Care Support worker in a similar field.
  • Knowledge / Skills / aptitude

    Essential

  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Able to manage own workload
  • Able to use System one
  • Able to work in a busy and demanding environment
