What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Assistant - Plastic Surgery Office position at Linda Huang MD | Plastic Surgery and Medical...?
Medical Assistant — Plastic Surgery and Medical Aesthetics Practice
Overview:
We are a cosmetic and plastic surgery clinic with a warm, patient-centered approach. We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to provide both hands-on clinical support and critical operational backup. In this role, you’ll help guide patients through their surgical journey — from first questions to final check-outs — while also keeping our office running smoothly behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care & Surgical Support
- Provide wrap-around pre- and post-operative support: patient education, answering surgery-related questions, preparing patients for procedures, and guiding post-op recovery (i.e., in person, over the phone, emails and messaging)
- Perform clinical tasks: change bandages, assist with dressing care, support wound healing, monitor recovery progress
- Deliver patient care with empathy, professionalism, and discretion
2. Operational & Administrative Support
- Help manage inventory of clinical supplies (e.g., bandages, injectables, skincare) and coordinate ordering with vendors
- Review and navigate practice scheduling to ensure smooth patient and provider workflows
- Maintain accurate documentation using EMR systems
- Jump in with front desk support when needed during high volume times: answer phone calls, greet patients, support appointment flow
3. Team Collaboration
- Help wherever needed — from assisting a provider to helping a teammate at the front desk
- Contribute to a warm, professional, and supportive environment where patients feel seen and valued
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification or comparable experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in a medical setting, ideally with surgical or dermatology / plastic surgery experience
- Comfortable with EMR systems and multitasking in a clinical office
- Attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate medical records
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — calm under pressure and naturally empathetic
- Familiarity with aesthetic treatments (e.g., Botox, lasers, fillers) a plus
- GED or equivalent
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time, ~30 to 40 hours/week
- Pay range: $22.00 - $28.00/hour depending on experience and credentials
- Benefits include:
- Medical insurance
- Employee discounts on aesthetic services
- Free indoor parking
Who You Are:
You love making patients feel safe, seen, and cared for. You're comfortable switching gears — from comforting a nervous post-op patient to ensuring we're stocked on suture kits. You have a can-do attitude, excellent judgment, and an interest in the intersection of medicine and aesthetics.
This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to join a passionate, supportive team that values both professional excellence and genuine care. In our intimate clinic, every team member plays a vital role.
