We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented contingent worker to support the External Affairs team’s budget and operational processes. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing team finances, onboarding vendors, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage the External Affairs team’s budget, including day-to-day budget operations, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.

Collaborate with Finance to forecast quarterly budgets and maintain timely, accurate financial planning.

Onboard vendors and external partners in accordance with procurement processes.

Serve as the go-to expert on budget management, vendor onboarding, and ad credit processes.

Meet monthly with External Affairs leads and collaborate with policy administrators to provide budget updates and ensure alignment.

Lead end-of-year compliance efforts, providing deadlines and guidance to ensure all requirements are met.

Oversee multiple cross-functional review processes—intaking proposals, maintaining trackers, soliciting feedback, and facilitating approvals.

Liaise with outside counsel and internal legal/compliance teams to ensure all vendor and partner engagements meet policy requirements.
Required Qualifications:

2–7 years of experience in budget management, program operations, or a related field.

Strong experience with spreadsheets and the ability to communicate insights through data.

Proven ability to work cross-functionally across teams such as finance, legal, and compliance.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor's degree (strongly preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in financial management tools and productivity software.

Experience working on connected hardware or with external vendors.

Familiarity with ad credit processes, procurement workflows, or compliance requirements.

Location: Onsite or Hybrid in Washington D.C. (3 days minimum)
Role type: Contract 12 Month Position
