Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Pulls products needed from inventory, package securely and place labels in preparation of shipment.
  • Choose the most efficient and cost effective way to ship all orders
  • Fulfills customer orders and maintains product inventory levels
  • Operates warehouse equipment such as scales, forklifts, pallet jacks or overhead crane
  • Maintains the inventory warehouse through organizing, cleaning
  • Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space on the vehicle ordered
  • Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them
  • Prepares all documentation for shipments both domestic and export
  • Builds crates and skids, including for overseas shipments verifying export shipping laws.
  • Backs up receiving on days they are extremely busy, sick or on vacation
  • Maintains stock levels for all shipping supplies
  • Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers
  • Receives delivery from outside vendors and assists with unloading of materials
  • Examines receivables to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Receives items into stocking using computerized system
  • Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material
  • Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock. Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders
  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, tracks, and shelves by hand
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
Must be comfortable using a computer, knowledge of BPCS desired, but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
This job requires no certificates, licenses, or registrations.

Other Qualifications:
Ability to distinguish stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum. Ability to accurately measure with tape and square to 1/32", read blue prints and convert decimals to fractions. Must be able to work overtime on an as-needed basis to maintain production deadlines. Forklift license required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
