ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Pricing Analyst at Lindblad, you will monitor the booking performance of four to eight ships within our fleet, maximizing revenue generation across an extensive range of 300 to 600 voyages. Reporting to and working closely with the VP of Revenue Management & Analytics, you’ll be responsible for implementing strategic pricing structures, orchestrating compelling promotional campaigns, and analyzing market trends to ensure our offerings remain competitive and captivating within the industry, thus helping the team achieve our ambitious revenue and occupancy targets.

\n- Unlocking Revenue Potential with Dynamic Pricing: As we transition to dynamic pricing within our reservation system, you will be at the forefront of capitalizing on the revenue opportunities this advanced functionality provides.
- Competitive Landscape Monitoring and Analysis: Establish and maintain processes to consistently track competitor activity, positioning yourself as the expert on a designated group of competitors. This involves understanding their pricing strategies, promotional activities, and market positioning to inform our own pricing decisions.
- Formalized Pricing Experimentation and KPI Tracking: Implement a structured and methodical approach to pricing experimentation. This includes identifying and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of pricing decisions. These KPIs may include booking velocity, competitor pricing and availability, historical booking trends, special events, demand seasonality, cost fluctuations, and the potential for group and charter bookings.
- Customer Segmentation and Targeted Pricing: Develop and implement pricing strategies that cater to the unique needs and behaviors of specific customer segments. This involves understanding the price sensitivity and preferences of various customer groups, including first-time cruisers, loyal repeat guests, solo travelers, multi-generational families, and large affinity groups, and tailoring pricing strategies accordingly.
- Revenue Optimization through Cross-Selling, Upselling, and Overselling: Proactively identify opportunities to maximize revenue through cross-selling (offering complementary products or services), upselling (encouraging customers to purchase higher-priced options), and overselling (strategically managing inventory to account for cancellations and no-shows). Additionally, you’ll recognize when course-correction tactics are necessary to optimize revenue performance and help the team pivot.
- Collaborative Promotional Campaign Orchestration: You’ll play a key role in planning and executing promotional campaigns in partnership with various teams, including marketing, sales, inventory management, web development, and IT. This involves coordinating promotional activities, ensuring consistent messaging, and optimizing promotional effectiveness to drive bookings and revenue.
- B.S. in Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or Operational Research, or equivalent industry experience
- Excel expertise: modeling what-if scenarios, Power Query, vLookup, and ranking
- Superlative analytical skills and demonstrable ability to draw logical conclusions based on data
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A demonstrated track record of success collaborating and working well with others to achieve success
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in pricing for travel or hospitality
- 2 years of Python experience
- Experience writing SQL queries for use with Excel/Power BI
- Strong understanding of mathematical and economic concepts as related to revenue management & pricing
- Demonstrable experience at Test & Learn experimentation

COMPENSATION STATEMENT
Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
