Quality Technician - Met Lab
Manchester, CT United States | req22314 1st Shift - Monday through Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
What you will enjoy doing*
- You will Prepare and evaluate cubicle qualification samples (Tab samples)
- Further you will also prepare and evaluate sample parts and customer hardware (Part cut ups) and prepare and evaluate physical properties (e.g. Hardness – Micro and Macro)
- You will Perform set-ups, and operate a variety of standard lab equipment, while adhering to prescribed methods of operation
- You will calibrate and maintain lab equipment is required in this role
- Moreover you will order all Met Lab supplies including polishing suspensions, grit paper, etc.
- You will perform quality evaluations of standard coatings in a timely manner, identifying problem areas and reporting results to appropriate individuals
- You will keep accurate record keeping for all of the above
What makes you great
- A High School Diploma/GED is required in this role
- You must be able to complete Praxair Metallurgical Technician Training and maintain certification
- Further you must be able to perform quality evaluations of standard coatings and basic investigations into metallurgical issues at a level typically acquired through a minimum of 5 years' related lab experience
- Moreover you must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends and holidays as needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills is required
- Ability to pass a vision test
