What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Tax Director - US Federal Compliance and Reporting position at Linde Gas & Equipment Inc.?
What you will enjoy doing*
- In this role you will report to the Tax Director, Tax Accounting and U.S. Tax, will be primarily responsible for US Federal income tax return filings and related income tax accounting for US GAAP and managing the team responsible for the same
- Lead the preparation of and review of the US Federal income tax returns (1120, 1065, etc.)
- Lead quarterly estimate Federal income tax calculations, payments, etc.
- Lead the US federal income tax accounting under ASC 740 on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Manage the review and responses to notices and requests for audit on the Federal level
- Monitor on-going US legislative changes and lead the efforts around evaluating the impact on the Company's US federal income tax liability
- Prepare and present executive summaries for and to Senior Executives
- Identify opportunities to drive process improvements, including automation, into the compliance process to ensure greater accuracy
- Identify opportunities through the compliance process for cash and/or ETR tax savings
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of 5 tax professionals
What makes you great
- 8-12 years of experience with corporate US federal income tax
- Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred
- Strong ASC 740 US GAAP tax accounting knowledge and skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Proven experience with process improvement / automation
- Experience managing large scale compliance projects
- Experience managing a team
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Systems experience with Hyperion, CORE, SAP, JDE, CORPTAX (U.S. compliance) preferred
