Job overview
The Production Planner is a unique cross functional position. This individual will have the ability to work closely and communicate clearly with many facets of the organization including the customer, production, and management to reach delivery goals. The candidate will have a strong background in planning / scheduling, customer relations, problem solving, computer skills and analytical thinking.
Primary responsibilities
- Make regular contributions to assist in the upkeep of a world-class safety culture
- Responsible for day-to-day customer contact, working closely with plant personnel (cell leader, team leaders, sales, etc.) to schedule customer orders and respond to customer inquiries.
- Individual will be required to work with production management to identify and resolve potential impediments to schedules.
- Contributes to determining solutions for out of flow parts, working with engineers, the customer, and production to resolve issues
- Candidate will be required to maintain an ongoing relationship with customers including delivery schedules, and issue resolution
- Responsible for maintaining current inventory counts for each of the different steps in the process, utilizing both Oracle as well as physical inventory processes.
- Responsible for data integrity on digital representation of customer part inventory and customer order status
- Point of contact for customer visits regarding physical inventory counts and WIP reconciliation
- Work in a dynamic team focused environment
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- Previous Customer Service experience (2-4 years) required.
- 5 years operations experience required, specifically with coatings processes desired.
- Demonstrate ability to work with many business functions required
- Microsoft skills: MS Word – Basic, MS PowerPoint – Basic, MS Excel – Intermediate / Advanced
- ERP skills: Oracle – intermediate preferred
- General knowledge of technical requirements desired
