Summary

The Overnight Truck Dispatcher oversee the SP Richards and Lindenmeyr Munroe private fleet operations across multiple distribution centers (DCs). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in dispatching, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and effective communication with drivers and DC personnel.

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation operations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with drivers, customers, and local management teams. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

· Dispatch and monitor fleet operations during overnight hours, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.

• Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate solutions in real time to maintain service standards, including equipment breakdowns, delivery and ELD tablet challenges.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, addressing their needs and concerns while ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with DCs to optimize delivery schedules and resource allocation.
• Utilize Omnitracs fleet management software to track shipments and manage fleet performance.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities and report on fleet efficiency.
• Monitor Omnitracs tracking, clean up open tasks, alert management of non-compliance.
• Proactively communicate service interruptions to DC management.
• Monitor drivers for compliance, route deviations, and excessive stop times.
• Manage Unassigned Vehicle Activity report.
• Manage Log Violation report.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current Omnitracs/Solara fleet management software experience is a must.
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in truck dispatching, preferable in a private fleet environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in phone etiquette.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Experience:

• 5-10 years’ experience in truck dispatching or related relevant experience.

Computer Skills:

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Current Omnitracs/Solara fleet management software experience is a must.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour
