Position Summary:
Oversee day-to-day management of our fleet of vehicles. Responsible for the cradle to grave use including purchasing, registration, GPS installation & monitoring, repair & maintenance, compliance & disposal while optimizing costs and maximizing vehicle uptime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operation of the fleet, ensuring vehicles are utilized efficiently and effectively. Monitor vehicle assignment and spare vehicle placement.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the fleet is in optimal working condition. Coordinate vehicle repairs, inspections, and necessary replacements in a timely manner.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards, inspections, emissions testing, and driver certifications. Maintain up-to-date records of licenses, registrations, and compliance documentation.
- Monitor and control fleet-related expenses, including fuel consumption, maintenance & repairs.
- Work with senior management to plan and execute procurement of new vehicles. Evaluate vehicle performance, leasing vs. purchasing options, and negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effective fleet acquisitions.
- Analyze fleet performance data and generate regular reports on vehicle utilization, costs, and maintenance trends.
- Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including maintenance shops, ensuring service levels are met and costs are controlled.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience to be considered.
- Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance, safety, and compliance regulations.
- Budget management experience.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
