Production Assistant-Flour Mill, First Shift 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma with relevant experience
Experience: Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check. Experience with or an understanding of food safety also preferred. Experience in food service or restaurants a major plus. Basic knowledge of electricals, mechanical and pneumatic processes, motors, a plus but NOT required.
Pay will be commensurate with experience and valuable contribution to the team.
Your Role: Successful candidates must be flexible, able to develop expertise on multiple machines, and will be able to cross train on several processes. Production Team Members inspect, organize, and prepare packaging; monitor machines that package product for optimal performance, label, and palletize finished product. Everyone assists with cleaning, sampling, and quality monitoring. Teamwork, a positive attitude, and a willingness to help each other is key to accomplishing business goals and success in this position.
Your Responsibilities: On the job training provided for specific machines, but operator experience a plus. Ability and willingness to take on responsibility will fast track success and promotion.
· Monitor packaging quality to ensure high quality standards are met.
· Check weights and validate scales and metal detectors regularly. Correctly label and sample products for the lab.
· Fill out food safety documentation on each product and shift's work, maintain safe working environment and personal safety at all times
· Learn to conduct routine maintenance, monitor machine performance, troubleshoot packing issues
· Perform regular cleaning tasks
· Assist team with other processes, cleaning, and learning other machines as needed
Physical Demands and Requirements
· This job requires the ability to read and comprehend written and oral operational and safety instructions and related rules, policies and memos, and to communicate clearly with your co-workers and supervisors.
· Candidates must be able to lift at least 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
· You must have reliable transportation to be available for work.
Hours and Benefits: First Shift is 7:30 PM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. All employees get 2, 15 minute breaks a day and a 1 hour meal break. Overtime opportunities are usually available.
