AR Collections Associate

Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Collections Associate to join our team! In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring our company receives timely payments from customers. You will handle all aspects of the collections process, from initial contact to final resolution, while also maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounts receivable records.

Responsibilities

• Locate and track down delinquent debtors using various resources.
• Negotiate and collect outstanding payments while adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.
• Research and analyze debtor accounts to assess repayment potential.
• Develop and implement effective collection strategies to maximize recoveries.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of all collection activities.
• Communicate effectively with debtors and creditors to resolve outstanding balances.
• May directly correspond with customers to understand reasons for late payments and answer questions.
• May prepare reports on collection progress for client lenders.
• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations.
• Secure and mail invoice copies to customers upon request.
• Organize and maintain accounts receivable documents for easy retrieval.
• Answer phone and fax inquiries related to accounts receivable.
• Return customer calls and correspondence to update account information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in collections or accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of collection procedures and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in PC operations, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and percentages.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
