What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line Cook position at Lindy's Landing Restaurant & Marina?
Job Summary:
Lindy’s boasts a clean, fast-paced, high-energy, fun and collaborative kitchen environment with an emphasis on teamwork! Our line cooks must be able to prepare menu items according to our recipe book using a variety of equipment and utensils. This position will also participate in other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all menu item plates. Teammates must maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times and have a good teamwork mentality. Must be reliable, have weekend availability and be willing to be flexible to the needs of the restaurant.
Tasks Include: Following food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures; restocking the front line with prepared product during peak hours, restocking cook stations and keeping them clean and organized, occasional assistance to dishwasher as needed, ongoing tasks related to overall cleanliness of the kitchen, and putting away deliveries.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have great stamina and be able to stand and work on feet for long periods of time.
Two or more years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking is preferred
Able to communicate effectively with managers and kitchen personnel, being bilingual is an advantage
Must have a friendly, positive and professional attitude at all times
Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
Must obtain food handler's certificate
ability to stand for 8 hours and work in hot conditions
