Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and evaluations on facility infrastructure and material handling equipment (MHE), ensuring proper operation.
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical apparatus, motors, wiring, and electronic components per electrical codes and standards.
- Complete work order tasks and log all performed work into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) daily.
- Maintain detailed reports of inspections, evaluations, and maintenance activities, communicating relevant information to leadership.
- Monitor contractors working on or near refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with company safety standards (if applicable).
- Operate and maintain onsite motorized lifts as needed for inspections and repairs.
- Perform other assigned tasks as required.
- 4 years of mechanical experience maintaining MHE, warehouse, processing, or manufacturing equipment (or a combination of experience and trade school).
- In automated sites, 2 years of experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Refrigeration experience (ammonia, Freon, CO2) is a plus but not required.
- Working knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and Process Safety Management (PSM) (where applicable).
- Ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) (may be required at some facilities).
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures (-20°F in cold storage to 100°F in dry storage) while wearing company-provided protective equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (or more depending on facility requirements).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends as needed.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels.
- Some locations require knowledge and practice of Working at Height regulations.
