Expertly handle the loading and unloading of materials onto and off pallets, skids, or lifting devices, ensuring accuracy and minimizing damage to goods. Key Responsibilities That Make You Essential
- Skillfully operate stand up forklifts, positioning forks or lifting platforms to safely handle loaded pallets, skids, boxes, and materials. Transport, load, and unload items to designated areas with precision.
- Utilize a Radio Frequency (RF) system to efficiently list materials and record the weight, count, and condition of frozen food items.
- Perform daily forklift maintenance and complete detailed check sheets to ensure peak performance.
- Lead safety checks, including truck chalking and glad-hand processes, to uphold a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with semi-truck drivers to implement and maintain strict safety precautions.
- Monitor battery levels, clean and maintain batteries, and ensure material handling equipment is parked at the correct charging station.
- Operate other machinery and material-handling equipment as needed, showcasing versatility and adaptability.
- At least 6 months to 1 year of stand up forklift experience
- Strong basic math skills for accurate material tracking.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in the official language of the country or as defined by Lineage Logistics.
- Comfort working in cold storage environments (as low as -20°F/-25°C) or dry storage areas (up to 100°F/37°C) while equipped with company-provided protective gear.
- Physical capability to lift at least 40 lbs./18 kgs., with higher weight requirements depending on the facility.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules and shifts, including weekends, to meet business needs.
- Adaptability to varying noise levels, from moderate to loud environments.
