POSITION SUMMARY:
The Transportation Supervisor is a key role with responsibilities for the drivers and fleet. This position oversees the drivers, routes, vehicles, including but not limited to maintenance, fuel, and KTA tags. Must be able to safely drive and transport customer material to specific locations, protect the customer’s mail and the company’s property if driver cannot cover his route. Perform initial mail sort for presorted, stamped, flats and for other mail processing as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate efficient routes and driver assignments.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities while ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Responsible for timecard verification/corrections, approved time cards for payroll.
- Manage fleet maintenance (including but not limited to: daily checks on each vehicle, oil changes, current insurance card, issues are documented for assignment, schedule maintenance/repair, etc.)
- Ensure a well-maintained and professional looking fleet (washes, maintenance, repairs, inside of vehicle cleaned regularly.)
- Investigate and resolve any safety incidents or vehicle breakdowns promptly.
- Confirm backup drivers on daily routes
- Facilitate efficient routes and driver assignments within routes (call-ins)
- Observe good driving habits, follow the posted signs, drive safely.
- Track and monitor driver performance.
- Protect the integrity of the mail in inclement weather (sleeves / cover / etc.)
- Customer service skills in interacting with customers
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and transportation laws.
- Dressed appropriately – clean company shirt and respectable pants or finished shorts and close toed shoes
- Look for improvements in pick-up times / routes
- Be trained on use of hand truck and/or forklift when needed
- Address and resolve customer complaints related to delivery or transportation issues.
- Main contact with customers to communicate delays, schedule changes
- Collaborate with production and Customer Success to ensure timely pickups and deliveries are made as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to Manage staff and workflow
- Proficiency in logistics software, GPS tracking, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and transportation laws.
- Computer skills including functional use of Microsoft Office / Windows
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Positive attitude and excellent organizational skills
- Timeliness / Attendance with ability to work overtime as needed
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Vehicle and maintenance understanding
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- This position has supervisory responsibilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- This position is in a warehouse environment
- Standard & specialized office equipment is used (such as computers, phones, copier, mail machine, folder inserter, printers, sorters, etc.) as well as tool use (screw driver, clamps, drills, pliers, wrenches, etc)
- Mix of physical and sedentary position
- This position would require some lifting/carrying (up to 25lbs)
- Filing, bending, standing, reaching with hands/arms, using tools, etc. as necessary
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to speak and hear

- This position may require travel.
