Compensation: $95,000 - $105,000 annually

Organization Overview:
At Lines for Life, we’re on a mission to prevent substance abuse and suicide while promoting mental wellness. We’re looking for a Strategy Officer to help us chart a course to the be the very best – and have the greatest impact – in meeting this mission, including supporting a culture of collaboration and accountability. We serve communities across Oregon and beyond through crisis intervention, prevention programs, and mental health advocacy. Our Strategy Officer will help us do this work even better and build robust support and engagement among our team members to help us build a strategy for growth and success, while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace that values diverse perspectives and collaboration.
Position Overview:
The Strategy Officer will play a critical role in advancing Lines for Life's mission by identifying and pursuing strategic business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving strategic alignment across Lines for Life’s programs. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this position will assist in aligning the organization’s growth and innovation with broader strategic goals, including our business development strategy. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-driven leader who can inspire cross-departmental collaboration, foster and develop commitment to mission, to effectiveness and to accountability, and support team members at all levels to improve our impact in the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Revenue Growth
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies that drive organizational growth and expand Lines for Life's reach and impact.
- New Market Opportunities: Monitor industry trends, identify new business opportunities, and pursue innovative partnerships that align with the organization’s mission.

Building a Culture of Collaboration and Effectiveness:
- Work with the HR department to improve our mission effectiveness through culture, collaboration, accountability and communications.
- Bring leadership innovative ways to foster commitment to mission effectiveness.
- Program Expansion and Design: Collaborate with internal teams to design and launch new programs and services that align with organizational goals.
Partnership Development & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partnership Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate partners, nonprofits, state and county government liaisons, community organizations, and other stakeholders to support Lines for Life’s mission and strategic business initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the COO, CEO, program directors, and other leaders to identify and capitalize on strategic opportunities, ensuring seamless alignment across departments.
Organizational Leadership & Performance Monitoring
- Leadership & Culture: Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization, aligning efforts with broader strategic objectives.
- Performance Metrics: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business development progress, ensuring accountability and data-driven decision-making.

Communication:
- Work closely with the Communications Department to help build an internal communications strategy to foster engagement, collaboration and mission effectiveness
- Provide regular updates to the COO, CEO, and Board of Directors on business development outcomes, opportunities, risks, and challenges.
Advocacy & Representation
- Advocacy: Represent Lines for Life’s strategic business interests at events, conferences, and meetings to enhance visibility and promote the organization’s mission.
- Thought Leadership: Act as an ambassador for Lines for Life, sharing insights and expertise to advance mental health, substance abuse prevention, and crisis intervention efforts.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (7 years) in strategic planning, business development, or leadership roles, preferably in the nonprofit or mental health sectors.
- Demonstrated success in driving organizational change, implementing strategic initiatives, and achieving measurable outcomes.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building effective partnerships.
- Ability to think critically and act proactively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Experience in mental health, suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention, or crisis intervention is highly desirable
