Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our team. bidding pavement marking projects for asphalt and site contractors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing bids and take-offs, ordering materials, scheduling, and ensuring projects are completed within budget constraints. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and proficiency in various estimating software.
Required Skills/Duties:
- Work independently from home while preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Utilize construction management software such as HeavyBid and ProCore to streamline the estimating process.
- Create project schedules and timelines to meet deadlines.
- Analyze blueprints and specifications to identify project requirements and potential challenges.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and ensure competitive pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and change orders.
· Experience bidding government projects for state and local municipalities a plus, but not required.
- Bilingual is a plus, but not required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction management software, particularly HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, and ProCore.
- Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in estimates.
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for precise cost calculations.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus but not mandatory.
