Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fleet Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles, including tractor-trailers and industrial equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, diesel engine repair, and the ability to work with hand tools and hydraulic systems. The Fleet Technician will ensure that all fleet vehicles are safe, reliable, and in optimal working condition.
Responsibilities
- Conducting onboarding for drivers.
- Conducting test-drives with new drivers.
- Training drivers on how to use ELDs and a paper log in case of ELD malfunction.
- Explaining the rules, fines and bonus system to drivers, as well as helping to prevent fines and with an employment contract.
- Assisting drivers in installing and configuring safety applications such as Samsara and PTI App.
- Training drivers in conducting PTI (Pre-Trip Inspection).
- Conducting the dismissal procedure if the driver leaves the company directly at the yard.
- Ensuring high-quality communication with drivers and providing a high level of service.
- Conducting the acceptance and transfer of equipment. Organizing the accounting and control of the issuance and return of inventory, recording all transactions in the system.
- Conducting inspections and monitoring compliance with standards Checking the condition of trucks and trailers, ensuring their compliance with safety requirements.
- Maintaining inventory records and monitoring returns. Ensuring the safety of the company's property, monitoring the condition and return of equipment.
- Preparing reports and interacting with departments. Maintaining documentation, informing the accounting department and management about damage and losses.
Experience
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly with industrial equipment and tractor-trailers.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques and practices.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and their components is preferred.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to vehicle maintenance are a plus.
