Head Men’s Basketball Coach
Full-Time | Exempt | NCAA Division III
Linfield University, a proud member of the NCAA Division III and the Northwest Conference, is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach. This full-time position is responsible for all aspects of the men’s basketball program, including coaching, recruitment, player development, and program administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all operations of the Men’s Basketball program.
- Recruit and develop student-athletes who excel academically and athletically.
- Ensure compliance with NCAA Division III, Northwest Conference, and Linfield University regulations.
- Manage the program’s budget, scheduling, and fundraising efforts.
- Hire, train, and supervise assistant coaches.
- Foster a positive team culture and support student-athlete academic success.
- Engage in community outreach, alumni relations, and sponsorship initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of coaching experience (or an equivalent combination of education and playing/coaching experience).
- Strong knowledge of basketball coaching theory, strategy, and recruiting.
- Understanding of Title IX, NCAA regulations, and the role of athletics in a liberal arts institution.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hiring).
- Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Previous head coaching experience and a strong recruiting track record.
