Basic Scope/Purpose:
This position is responsible for the administration, configuration, optimization, and support of assigned business applications to ensure the applications run smoothly, meet the needs of the business, and align with company goals. The associate is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving application issues and occasionally developing small code fixes or enhancements to existing applications. The associate is required to work with both technical and non-technical personnel to understand process requirements and implement solutions within a formal planning, configuration, testing, and deployment methodology.
Education and/or Relative Experience:
•Bachelor’s Degree – Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Management of Information Systems, or the equivalent of 3-5 years in a similar administration and application support role in the Manufacturing Industry.
•Advanced technical skills and application knowledge of each assigned business application.
•Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities to diagnose and fix application issues.
•Analyze business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
•Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills for interacting with users, stakeholders, and vendors, both technical and non-technical in nature.
•Experience with project management methodologies and the ability to manage small project timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.
•Strong analytical skills, programming knowledge, and customer service abilities to maintain system stability and optimize user experience.
•Familiar with various EDI transaction types and translating data between JD Edwards and EDI standard formats.
•Programming Languages (Python, XML, C#, .Net, SQL).
•Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive, Visio).
Principal Accountabilities:
- Application Administration - Provide technical support for end-user requests by troubleshooting and resolving application issues, and escalating more complex issues as needed. Monitor application performance and maximize application uptime. Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate solutions for assigned business applications, including, but not limited to:
- Data Systems International (DSI) – Inventory tracking and data collection application, integrates with JD Edwards ERP.
- Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher – Label and form generator, integrates with JD Edwards ERP.
- ProShip – Multi-carrier rate and shipping application, integrated with JD Edwards ERP.
- Cleo Clarify, VLTrader, and VLProxy – Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), integrates with JD Edwards ERP.
- SmarterCommerce – Credit Card Processing application, integrates with JD Edwards ERP.
- Arena PLM – Product Lifecycle Management application, integrates with JD Edwards ERP
- JD Edwards EnterpriseOne – Integration layer for adjacent applications.
- System Maintenance and Upgrades – In collaboration with the IT Systems Administrator, oversee regularly scheduled maintenance to keep the application(s) up to date. Coordinate testing and implementation of software upgrades, patches, and new features. Work with each application provider to remain current with their product development roadmap. Ensure compatibility and stability across different platforms and systems.
- Software Deployment Process – Adhere to the deployment process of building, testing, and deploying new code or configuration changes in a non-production environment before delivering the final solution to a production environment.
- User Training and Documentation – Develop and deliver training materials and training sessions to help users effectively utilize business applications. Create and maintain documentation related to application configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Requirements Gathering and Analysis - Maintains an open channel for feedback between external customers and internal users, such as Business Process Owners (BPO) and Subject Matter Experts (SME), to identify actionable opportunities to enhance assigned business applications.
- Project Management Lite - Participate in or lead small projects related to the implementation of new applications or the enhancement of existing ones. Coordinate with vendors, IT teams, and other departments to ensure successful project delivery.
- Security and Compliance – In collaboration with the IT Endpoint Configuration & Security Analyst, ensure the applications adhere to security standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor security measures within the assigned business applications.
- Data Management - Oversee data integration, migration, and management within the assigned business applications. Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across applications.
