We are looking for a talented Mechanical Test Technician Co-op who will be responsible for assembly of equipment, maintenance of complex dynamometers/precision measuring equipment and testing operations. This includes measuring and inspecting all system components and, in some cases, programming the dynamometers and other measuring equipment. You will be able to apply coursework concepts to real-world situations working alongside professional, experienced colleagues while also gaining valuable experience working for a Global Manufacturing and Engineering Company.

Main Responsibilities:
- Learn to set up Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, or Electrical test equipment such as Powertrain Dynamometers in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, or test procedures.
- Learn to set up and test electrical harnesses and or components in accordance with Customer Specifications.
- Ensure fixtures for the parts, measurements, and pictures are appropriate and validated to ensure function and fit exists.
- Monitor machine-controlled test equipment to ensure the test is performing as expected documenting when activity arises that is not expected.
- Begin documenting test results, using cameras, spreadsheets, documents, or other tools.
- Preparation of test parts including digital caliper measurements and or digital scales for weighing the sample parts provided by the customer.
- Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown: Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies.
- Assist in building lab test fixtures.
- Assist other departments as needed for setups and teardowns of various test equipment.
- Exposure to and trained on multiple subjects relating to mechanical, electrical and controls systems.
- Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
- All other related duties as assigned.
- Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job.

Qualifications:
- Officially enrolled in High School.
- Completed coursework in digital electronics, circuit functions, and basic electronics preferred.
- Ability to read and understand Electrical Schematics preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics/Hydraulic systems controls preferred.
- Basic knowledge of lathe machine and/or Bridgeport for Fabrication and or Milling.
- Excellent analytical skill and critical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to practice active listening and to hear people out.
- Ability to practice active listening to learn new skills within the industry, company, product or technical knowledge.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Physical Requirements:
- The position is located in a mixed office and test laboratory environment and will involve hands-on work. Physical activity may include lifting (up to 30lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity or sitting for long periods of time.
