What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Specialist position at Link House, Inc.?
Link House Inc. is hiring for a Recovery Specialist position at it's Maris Center for Women location in Salisbury. The Recovery Specialist staff provides support, including awake overnight, to the women in the program. There are openings for full time or per-diem second and third shifts, some of which include weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and provide support and encouragement, on-site supervision to deal with any problems or emergencies that may arise in the evenings.
- Supervise urine screens and administer Breathalyzer when necessary.
- Keep a daily shift log of activities and document each entry in the appropriate format.
- If there is an incident, log that it occurred, put the details in an incident report, and turn it into the Program Director.
- Utilize on-call case management when appropriate, including but not limited to instances where a relapse occurs, an ambulance is called, a significant fight or disagreement among residents happens, or emergency services are called.
- Monitor residents, enforcing house rules.
- Check chores and ensure the job is done to satisfaction, then record results.
- Make sure the entranceway and any other safety hazard is clear and safe for the residents.
- Work closely with the Program Director to address any problems that may arise concerning the residents or safety of the facility.
- Collaborate with the Director to ensure overall safety.
- Practice safety protocols consistently.
- Be trained in NARCAN and overdose prevention.
- Update documents as necessary for case management staff.
- Clean the office and maintain a tidy work environment.
- Host recovery support meetings as needed.
- Maintain strict appropriate boundaries with residents.
- Stay awake and alert when working the overnight shift (3rd shift)
- Assist in calling treatment centers or appropriate levels of care when needed.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate and necessary by Link House Inc.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A working knowledge of addiction and recovery issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent and some experience in human services or additional services. At the discretion of the Link House management, qualifying criteria may be waived in whole or part where and when deemed appropriate.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass CPR certification within the first 6 months of employment.
