Air Freight Forwarder, Edison NJ

About the Role

As an Air Freight Forwarder at Link Logistics Inc., you will play a crucial role in facilitating the movement of goods across borders and domestically, efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

• Coordinating and managing shipments from origin to destination i.e. bookings, delivery orders, CAD’s etc.
• Liaising with clients, carriers, and customs officials to ensure smooth transit of goods. i.e. online track and trace
• Preparing and processing export documentation
• Negotiating freight rates and booking cargo with airlines
• Resolving any issues or delays that may arise during transit
• Maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements
• Familiarity with IATA Hazardous regulations

Business Development & Customer Relations

• Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities.
• Build and nurture relationships with key clients, suppliers, and partners to expand the business.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolving any operational issues and/or escalations.
• Promote Link Logistics’ sustainability goals and incorporate responsible practices into daily operations.

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a passionate and strategic forwarder who is ready to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in international air logistics/forwarding.
• A strong customer-focused mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of international shipping processes and documentation.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CargoWise
• A valid driver’s license and access to a presentable vehicle is required.

This position will require 3 months’ training split between our office in Edison and JFK with 2 weeks in JFK per month. After end training work location is Edison, NJ.
