General Responsibilities / Job Summary:
Proficient in all related duties of Credit Analyst I-III. Underwrites, with a high degree of independence, new complex commercial loan requests, as well as renewals, recommending a structure that maximizes organizational profit and minimizes credit risk or loss to the Bank. This position will be expected to underwrite and help structure the more complex credits as they arise. Additionally, this position will serve as a team lead for Commercial Credit Analysts in the Commercial Credit Department, which consists of supervisory duties, managing workflow and reviewing the work of credit analysts being supervised.
Essential Functions/Duties:

- Lead credit analysts, including coordination and management of workflow and review of their work. Leads weekly Credit Pipeline Updated meeting with Credit Team and Lending Teams. As a Team Lead, responsible for reviewing and ensuring accuracy of the team’s underwriting and risk ratings.
- Underwrite new complex commercial loan requests, modifications, increases, renewals, and annual reviews through the preparation of Credit Approval Memoranda and other required forms.
- Gather background customer information from various public agencies and other resources (i.e., property searches, OFAC searches, environmental pre-screens, and credit bureau reports, appraisals, etc.)
- Accompany Relationship Management Team on joint customer sales and service calls for exposure, learning, and offering technical support as needed.
- Through the annual review and renewal process, identify warning signals of potential problem loans recommending the appropriate risk rating and structure to management.
- Undertake supervisory duties related to assigned team of analysts, including completion of performance reviews. Coordinate with and provide status updates to RMs and Regional Presidents within designated region on workflows being handled by the Credit Department.
- Exercise loan authority within established limits. Authority based on experience level.
- Serve as coordinator for various bank processes as needed (Officer’s Loan Committee and Director’s Loan Committee Coordinator, Small Business Administration Coordinator, Problem Asset Committee Minutes, etc.)
- Intentionally pursues 1 on 1 relationships with credit analysts for their individual development. Completes quarterly reviews.
- Management responsibilities including monthly check-in’s, coaching & development, bonus and salary reviews, timecards, and performance reviews discussions.
- Work on projects as assigned by the Senior Credit Officer or Chief Credit Officer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Training: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics; specialized bank lending education, certificates and training.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with clear direction from supervisor.
- Attention to detail, problem solving and the ability to be proactive.
- Deep understanding of financial statements.
- Must partner with management team to ensure effective compliance to Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Strong computer knowledge, word processing and Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and organizational skills.
- Willingness and desire to coach, develop, and invest in team members.
Experience: Minimum seven to ten (7-10) years commercial loan underwriting or equivalent experience preferred. Some management experience desired. Formal credit training preferred.

Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to all locations in the bank’s footprint as needed.
