Job Summary
We are seeking a Make Ready Engineer to join our team at a leading utility and telecommunications engineering firm serving clients across the Midwest. This role is critical in ensuring power distribution systems comply with NESC regulations while designing and preparing utility infrastructure for upgrades or new installations. The ideal candidate will utilize industry-leading software to perform pole loading in PoleForeman, draft CAD design prints, and review designs for NESC compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand Client Needs : Analyze and interpret client specifications to develop effective design solutions.
- Pole Loading & Analysis : Conduct pole loading and reviews using PoleForeman, ensuring accurate data entry for the design and construction of overhead and underground distribution systems.
- Design & Drafting : Create detailed design prints using CAD software to depict low-voltage overhead and underground distribution systems while meeting client and regulatory standards.
- NESC Compliance : Assess locations for NESC violations and propose corrective actions to maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborative Work : Work with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met, providing technical guidance as needed.
- Document Preparation & Reporting : Develop necessary documents, including overhead and underground design prints, for project proposals and construction.
- Additional Support : Assist project managers with tasks related to utility design, construction, and compliance, as assigned.
