Job Description
This role will be based in New York.
The Ads Creative Optimization team is at the heart of LinkedIn’s marketing solutions, responsible for enabling advertisers to tell compelling stories and drive outcomes through highly effective creatives. Our mission is to empower marketers with intelligent, performant, and personalized ad creatives that maximize impact for every campaign.

We own the systems and platforms that power creative media upload and management, third-party creative integrations, media ranking and recommendation based on campaign objectives, and cutting-edge generative AI-based ad personalization and optimization. This work directly influences advertiser success and member experience across LinkedIn’s advertising ecosystem.

As the Engineering Manager for this team, you’ll lead a talented group of engineers working across backend, machine learning, and generative AI domains. You will:
drive product and technical strategy for the Ads Creative Optimization team in partnership with cross-functional peers in product, design, AI and other partners

Lead and scale a team responsible for: media upload and creative asset management systems, integrations with 3rd party creative solutions, ranking and recommendation systems that align media selection with advertiser objectives, and applying GAI-based creative generation and optimization techniques to ad personalization

Responsibilities:
You will manage the performance and career development of a small team of engineers, and own significant parts of LinkedIn products that require design, architecture, and coding.
You will participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology roadmap.
You will be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.
You will work with peers across teams to support and leverage a shared technical stack.
You will manage teams to scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, review code, and deliver with speediness and quality.
You will develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.
You will produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
1 year(s) of management experience or 1 year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training
5 years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale software engineering
Experience programming in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages (like Java/Python/C/C /Scala/etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
2 years of hands-on software engineering/technical management and people management experience
7 years industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions.
5 years programming experience in languages such as Java, C/C , C#, Python, Go, etc.
Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications
Understanding of common performance patterns and anti-patterns in distributed systems
Successful track record of managing small teams of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality
Active involvement in the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $147,000 - $240,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
