Position requirements will vary from position to position and may require subject matter expertise on topics such as public health, international development, environmental science, technology, security, finance, and other.Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesProvide copyediting / proofreading services for publicationsEnsure that all print deliverables comply with copyright, trademark laws and regulationsDevise and establish editorial style sheets and / or templates for use when copyediting / proofreading a variety of print / digital publicationsProvide editorial services to develop and produce a variety of print, digital and photographic productsMinimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or a related fieldAt least (10) years professional editorial / copy editing experiencePossess a keen eye for detail and exceptional proofreading skillsExperience in reviewing reports and miscellaneous multi-page publicationsExperience in reviewing financial and agency annual reportSuperior oral and written communication skills and thorough knowledge of grammar and syntaxOutstanding organizational skillsExcellent writing skills, ability to analyze, synthesize and condense textAbility to handle tight deadlines and conflicting schedulesAbility to work independently, multitask and shift prioritiesExcellent computer skills, including MS Word; experience with editing electronic manuscriptsAbility to edit PDF files using Adobe AcrobatFamiliarity with Chicago and AP Style manualKnowledge of writing, editing and style guidelines of the Government Publishing OfficeKnowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation ActAbility to assemble editorial style guide that adheres to GPO style and commercial best practices
