Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health and behavioral interventions, with a focus on providing support to individuals facing various psychological challenges. This role involves assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic strategies to promote mental well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify behavioral and emotional issues.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.
- Implement therapeutic interventions, including counseling and support for gender issues.
- Utilize creative approaches such as art therapy to engage clients in the healing process.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and medical professionals, to provide holistic care.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families regarding psychopharmacology and medication management.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
Experience
- A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
- Prior experience in behavioral health or mental health settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with gender issues counseling is highly desirable.
- Experience or training in art therapy techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles is beneficial for effective client care.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds are essential.
- Behavior Specialist Ph.D. level: Doctoral degree in psychology, education, or related discipline & licensed and credentialed as a Psychologist with the state of Washington as evidenced by a current credential as a psychologist from the DOH.
- Behavior Specialist Master’s Level: Master’s degree in psychology, education, social work or related discipline AND licensed and credentialed as a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Independent Clinical Social Worker, or Associate of any of the former, with the state of Washington as evidenced by a current credential as a mental health professional from the DOH.
